ARTIST PROFILE

 

Alan is a self taught artist, with an art range from the extremes of painting cartoons to painting realism, in particular, scenes of rural Nelson.

The cartoons are all original creations and are designed to bring a smile to the face of the viewer!... They contrast greatly with his Nelson paintings, in which Alan strives to make everything as close to reality as possible. Its a style he likes and one he is beginning to get a lot of satisfaction from.

"I prefer to use acrylic paint as the sharpness in colours seems to suit my style"

His main influences are Spike Milligan, the Nelson landscape and his moods are shaped by the results of Sheffield United Football Clubs success.

Bob Roderique

ARTIST PROFILE

 

Bob is a self taught painter, starting in 1999 after a case of heart failure. He has owned / operated the following galleries - The Travellers Art Gallery, The Blue Bubble, Art Moves Gallery and currently Art @ 203.

A seasoned traveller of the world Bob has always enjoyed coming back to live in Nelson.

His style of painting started out as naive and then progressed to more contemporary abstract, originally using acrylic and now enjoys using mixed media as he experiments and pushes the boundaries of his works.

"I am continually surprising myself. I did not know I had all this creativity in me. It is a fascinating journey."
